It's true. We did it! Exactly 10 months after Robbie proposed, we officially tied the knot on Saturday. It was - by far - the most amazing day of my life. The whole weekend was amazing actually. I can't even put into words how incredible it was having so many friends and family members in one place, all laughing, crying, eating, drinking, dancing and celebrating love.
My bridesmaids, the groomsmen, our parents and our friends were truly our angels, working around the clock with us over the last week to finish everything up. As I've mentioned before, our wedding was almost 100% D.I.Y., and we were literally wrapping up projects right until the last minute. I was quite the train wreck frantically sewing the final buttons on my wedding dress minutes before we left for the venue!
Our wedding was a huge, beautiful group effort, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend. It still doesn't seem real.
The last of our guests left yesterday, and Robbie and I spent the evening reading our cards, looking through the few photos we have so far, and trying to recreate everything in our heads. People are not kidding when they say your wedding goes by quickly. It was over in a flash. Today, it's time to get back to work and reality - and somehow clean our house, which looks like it was hit by a wedding tornado. I'll be sure to post more pictures as we get them from friends and our photographer. And I can't wait to share my D.I.Y projects and wedding planning strategies with you over the next few weeks!
Huge thanks once again to the bloggers who filled Bubby and Bean with some seriously awesome guest posts during all the wedding madness of last week. And thanks to all of you too, for your sweet wishes, and for being a part of this journey with me. Stay tuned for more...

ReplyDeleteThank you so much everyone! You are all wonderful. :) It was SUCH an amazing day, and I have so much more to share. One thing I have to admit about DIY weddings (and all weddings, I'm sure), is that you end up being quite exhausted afterward! Or at least I am. :) I can't even imagine being on a honeymoon right now - I think I'd sleep the entire time. Stay tuned tomorrow for a tutorial on how we made our favors!
