To Everything There is a Season >> Guest Post by The Dainty Dish

Truth be told, fall & spring are my two very favorite seasons. Why? Because they both ease you into the more serious seasons (summer & winter), somewhat like a warm up of what’s to come. I celebrate spring for the renewal of nature and fall for the colorful celebration of a year not quite over, but drawing to a close.

I, for one, am simply not a fan of winter, which is quite humorous considering I live in Colorado. I often tell friends that my feet freeze in October and don’t thaw out until the end of April. I’m all for a snow day two or three times a year, but beyond that-- get me out there.

And while summer is quite lovely, because of the ease I feel being able to slip on a simple dress and flip flops, as the days get hotter the only relief I can find is submerged in a cold swimming pool, lake, or stream.

Oh, but fall... autumn (whatever you care to call it) always comes right in the knick of time. It’s as if a switch flips Labor Day weekend each year; the nights get cooler, the wind blows a gentle breeze through the morning air, and the Harvest moon comes ‘round as if its telling us all to slow down a bit. The vibrant reds, golds, purples, and oranges call out from the country roads inviting us to spend an afternoon driving under bridges, over rivers, and past farms rejoicing in the bounty of the land.

Let us celebrate the changing of the seasons, but let us also celebrate love-- for a friend we both share has found love. A love so strong, it will last through many days and months and years and seasons.

Melissa: May this be your time to plant, to heal, to laugh, to dance, to embrace, to love, and to celebrate peace.

love & hope,
Sutton
