Just a quick shout out to my sister (and Bubby and Bean's very own food editor!) Morgan, who cut off her long hair last week to donate to Locks of Love. For those not familiar with Locks of Love, it is a really wonderful non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Morgan is a short hair girl through and through, but she made the decision two years ago to grow hers out until it reached the minimum 10 inches that Locks of Love requires. With the help of Tyler Mason Salon, she cut it all off, ended up with a gorgeous new look, and did something to make a difference in someone's life. I'm all sorts of proud of my little sis, I have to say.
Morgan wanted me to tell you all not to fret - there will be another edition of Sweet and Sour posted very soon. She's had a busy couple of weeks, visiting me here in Chicago, teaching future generations about Psychology, and being an all around bad ass. Trust me though, her next recipe is worth the wait.
ahhh her hair looks soo soo sooooooooooo good!!! I love it and for such a good cause :) XohX em
ReplyDeleteThe new short 'do is adorable! I'm sure she'll miss her long hair from time-to-time, but it was for a good cause!
ReplyDeleteEeep!! Awesome hair cut!! And what a sweet thing to do!! Yeah Morgan! I can't wait for your next recipe post :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the pony tails- that's so much hair! Love the new cut too!
ReplyDeleteTell your sister she looks good with her new haircut! The locks of hair will make someone very happy!
ReplyDeleteYAY! I did that once before. I am also a short hair gal...but a few times in my life I let it grow out past shoulder length then to get tired of it and whack it. Once my stylist suggested LOL and I was hapy to cut it! Good for her! Your sister looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome of your sister!! :) :) Good for her. And her cut is waaay cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that she grew it out for that purpose! the long haired hippieish guy that runs the local gas station showed up with a buzz cut a few weeks ago. He said he had donated his to locks of love. That was the first I had heard of it, now twice!!! NICE JOB MORGAN!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful!! This is inspiring. My little sister has extremely long hair, and I always tell her she could make at least two wigs out of it. She's eight years old though, so she always looks at me in horror, haha :)
ReplyDeletelocks of love warms my heart. wonder what the next installment of morgan will be?
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I donated to locks of love a few years back...the only funny thing was having to carry my cut ponytail home from the hairdresser's and have it hanging around looking like a little animal before I packed and mailed it. Weird to see all your hair...not on your head :)
ReplyDeleteWoohooo for Morgan! Her new haircut looks fabulous. =) I've donated to Locks of Love twice. It's a great charity.
