No really. I do. This beautifully styled bedroom belongs to Nina over at Stylizimo, and happens to be located in Norway. But I still want to live in it. (She also made the pallet headboard. Pretty bad ass, eh?)
I'm far too lazy to paint my nails on a regular basis, but when I do, I usually opt for bright colors or pastels. I think I may be converting to the dark side, however, after spotting this killer new manicure tutorial from The Beauty Department. I love how the texture keeps the black from being overly plain. Trying it out this weekend.
Truth be told, I haven't used my beloved Holga camera in over a year. But after stumbling upon these ridiculously pretty Diana Mini's, I'm feeling a strong urge to break out the film again before summer is over.
This quote is a good reminder for those days when I have mild panic attacks over things like bank account balances and bill due dates (which are often followed by periods of audibly cursing out rich celebrities who buy excessively massive estates and blood diamonds).
These Eiffel Tower scissors win for the raddest thing I've seen all week. I love Paris. I design clothes. It all makes sense. Unfortunately, Typo seems to be sold out of them on their website, but for those of you who live in Australia (and apparently San Francisco?), I hear they're available in Typo stores.
I decided early this week that it was time to get back into a regular yoga routine. It makes a huge difference in how I feel (physically and mentally) to practice it daily, yet when I have a lot to do, it is the easiest thing ever to talk myself out of: "You can't do yoga today; you have way too many emails to return/numbers to crunch/posts to write/collections to design/Pinterest finds to pin/witty banter to tweet..." No more excuses. And I might be late to the party, but I discovered the amazing Shiva Rea this week and have been doing her energy and relaxation practices videos twice a day. She's such a rad teacher that I'm even going to make it a goal to try to travel to take one of her live classes in the upcoming year.
Just when I thought I might be getting a teeeeeny bit sick of fringe, I spy this seriously gorgeous fringed clutch/shoulder bag at Steve Madden, which I happen to think is the perfect mix of boho and classic. Also, I have to say that every pair of Steve Madden shoes I've ever owned has lasted forever, so I'm pretty sure this bag would as well. (This is me justifying to myself that purchasing would be like so totally worth it.)
First, I want a lamb. And a goat. Second, this is the most adorable thing I've seen all week, hands down. This lamb's mother refused to raise it, so this boy decided to step in. He raised the lamb himself, feeding it milk replacer with a bottle. When it was time to move on to grass, little lamb wasn't having it... until the boy literally showed him how. You can see all the photos here. Love, love, love.
Guess what?
Hence, this brand new edition of Friday is for Favorites! Yes, it's true! I know, I can't believe it either. It has officially been two full months since I last did one of these 'weekly' favorite roundups. I can't even come up with a valid excuse. All I know is that it's good to be back, friends. Good to be back.
For new readers, 'Friday is for Favorites' is my (supposed-to-be) weekly series where I become a rebel, and break all of my own rules of design cohesiveness to which I normally adhere on the Bubby and Bean blog. No themes, trend collections, or matching aesthetics here. Just a gathering of a few random things that I happen to be loving this particular week.
What are you up to this weekend? My plans involve catching up on Quickbooks for my other business, (which, like most tasks on my 'to do' list that involve numbers, has been neglected for longer than I'd like to admit), and possibly cleaning the house. (Jealous?) The husband has been on the road with the band since last weekend and will be gone this weekend too, and I was secretly hoping for some kind of magically exciting girl's night style adventure to pop up and conquer all potential boredom/loneliness, but alas. Thankfully, I am meeting up with a friend for a quick dinner tonight, and have shopping plans with another pal tomorrow, so all is not lost.
Whatever you're doing, I hope you have the best time ever. And an amazing Friday too.
That bedroom is all kinds of amazing! I have really wanted to create a wooden headboard like that one. Oh one day!
ReplyDeleteGoing to Modcloth during the workday is like opening Pandora's box. I have to stay away.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend is jam-packed. Today my aunt is coming over to help me hang some curtains, tomorrow we have a birthday party AND a housewarming party to attend, and Sunday we're donating a bunch of old furniture and books. Whew!
Love all of your Friday Fancies! I think the first dress is pretty amazing too! I hope you have a surprisingly exciting and enjoyable weekend. I do have a giveaway going on right now celebrating reaching 200 GFC followers. I am giving away some of my favorite things... maybe some of them are your favorite too! Precious lamb! I always say I want a baby lamb, haha, but I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to have farm animals in my apt building. ;) Also, love that navy dress with the white collar and the black textured nails. Have a good weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThat quote is awesome! I also love that lamb story so much, sigh =). Great picks as always!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these picks so much especially the cameras and those dresses!!! I think you should get the dress on the left or in the middle, they're both super adorbs!!!
ReplyDeleteI went to Typo multiple times while on a 2 week vacation to Sydney. It's definitely one of my newest favorite stores!
ReplyDeleteWow, she made that headboard?! Skillllls. I'd love one just like it sometime in the future. And that boy with the lamb is such a sweetheart! I melted.

I have just got into reading blogs regularly in the last month and WOW!mi have found some awesome people (like you) to follow and become inspired from. Looking forward to diving into, your archives :)
ReplyDeleteI can hardly believe it has been 2 months since your last Fridays is for Favorites post. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. (Fyi think that's a good thing ; ] ) I do really like them though, so hopefully you get a chance to put some more together--even if not every week (which is ok!)
ReplyDeleteI like the first dress for you the best. I think you would rock the accessories out of it haha.
That coral camera! I saw it on Plastic Land and fell in love. I didn't know it came in other colors, but I think I still like the coral one best. It is nowhere near pocket money-friendly, but I will dream about it anyway ; ]
If I knew anything about the store that sells those scissors, I would seriously consider driving the hour up to SF to look for them for you, because that is how awesome you are : ]
And finally, those lamb pictures are just too sweet. I love them!
LOVE that fringe bag! It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteI want a lamb too! I once held a baby lamb in Ireland and I almost died. SO CUTE.
