Happy Monday you guys! I just had to share some of the photos from a sneak peek I received in my inbox a few days ago of Free People's latest lookbook, shot in South Africa by photographer Guy Aroch. It's not often that I post about collections or lookbooks, but I was especially inspired by this one, and felt like it deserved a mention. As much as I don't want summer to end, these images admittedly get me a tiny bit excited for fall. The designs themselves are the perfect transition pieces, full of mixes of airy sweaters and skirts, lightweight outerwear, oversized scarves and muted color jeans. The styling (hello layers) and colors (earth tones with pops of bolder tones and tribal prints) are still summery, but hint at cooler weather.
There are so many different elements of this collection that I absolutely love, but my favorite part is the fact that Free People teamed up with a non-profit called Relate Trust to create the beautifully coloful beads you see in the image above. For every sale, $1 will be donated to their United Against Malaria Campaign, to offer lifesaving mosquito nets and treatments in Malaria-endemic regions throughout Africa. Pretty bad ass.
Before I go, I wanted to quickly say thank you for the incredible comments you guys left on my "Let's Talk About Migraines" post from Friday. I was amazed to see how many of you struggle with migraines as well, and it was really interesting to read the ways that you treat them and different approaches you've taken. Although I still need to respond to a few of the comments, I've read all of them, and appreciate them so much.
Wow, these images are breathtaking and the clothes look great!

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous shoot! I love the lighting. And of course the clothes. I love Free People. =)
ReplyDeleteWOW thanks for sharing- their photos are always so gorgeous!!! I didn't realize that they gave proceeds to help malaria, it makes a good excuse for the high price tag!

I love this! I'm definitely swooping up some of the beaded bracelets - it's great that they donate to United Against Malaria Campaign!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see photos of South Africa it makes me want to drop everything and go there immediately. Everything seems drenched in golden light and bright colors. Plus, I think it must be completely different from any other place I've been. Anyhoo, I love that cropped jacket. Fall layers are my favorite! So many more options and ways to style things...whereas right now it's so hot that the only option is to wear as little clothing as possible. I can't even wear a lot of jewelry or accessories when it's so humid/hot because they just stick to your skin and feel heavy. Blah.
ReplyDeleteThese photographs are absolutely beautiful! The clothes look gorgeous. I love all the accessories.
