During September and October of this year, I was on the road pretty incessantly. And although I adore traveling, I have to admit it was nice having November to just chill and not be living out of a suitcase. During the holidays, I like to stay put - both because of how busy I am with work and the fact that the holidays are always just better at home. But December is filled with travel for me again, as we head to Mexico in less than two weeks for Robbie's band's annual festival, and then to Atlanta right after Christmas for their 4-day New Year's run. I will admit it can be a little weird to be in a tropical location with a nonstop party going on around you during a time when you're usually wrapping gifts and drinking hot chocolate, but I don't join Robbie on the road very often, and I'm definitely grateful for the chance to take these trips. (And who could possibly complain about having to sit on the beach in the winter?)
Many of my friends are wanderlusters too (and I know many of you are as well!), so I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite gift ideas for the traveler. I hope it comes in handy if your holiday shopping list includes frequent jet-setters, or maybe even for yourself if you're going out of town for the holidays.
Do you have any trips coming up this month, or any fun travel plans for 2013?
It's December! A new months means a new batch of sponsors, along with some awesome returning sponsors. Take a minute or two to check them out by clicking on their pretty graphics hanging out over there in the right sidebar. The shops have some really incredible holiday gifts for sale, and the blogs are full of all sorts of goodness as well. If you're viewing this in a reader, you can see what I mean by clicking here.
#9 is so cute!!! I only traveled once where my suitcase was out of my hands, I was so worried!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that shirt! Great gift ideas. I'm really looking forward to the festival in Mexico. It's our honeymoon and I am sooo excited for music, sun, sand and relaxation with the hubs! Dancing in the sand to one of our fave bands will be a dream come true. :)
ReplyDeleteHow great! I love the travel stub diary! My boyfriend travels constantly and has all the stubs taped to the wall... this is so much better!
ReplyDeleteah, traveling bingo was my favorite as a kid!
ReplyDeletei'm currently traveling throughout argentina (heading to patagonia today) but i can't wait to be home for the holidays.
xo the egg out west.
I love that roadtrip bingo! The bar bingo version is pretty hilarious, too. I also like the idea of "travel more, work less." If only I didn't have to worry about making money!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think that's the problem for most of us. :) Great concept though!
DeleteThese are all great ideas. I think we are staying put this year with the new house and everything, though I would be lying if I said I don't catch myself daydreaming about far away places I've been and wish I could see again almost every day. ;)
ReplyDeletewow i am in love with the traveler's locket!
ReplyDeleteTotally love the Pan Am bag, I am a sucker for anything about the classic jet setter!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the Pan Am series, so I'm all about that tote. Haha, I don't even think I would wear it, I just want it on display in my bedroom, hehe.
ReplyDeleteThese are all such great ideas!!! I wish I could travel as much as you but I'm sure it also gets really old, haha. I don't think I'd want to spend Christmastime on a beach either but I hope you have fun!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the PanAm bag!!! And I'm really looking forward to traveling 2013 - my husband and I are taking our first big trip together through the Baltic Sea.
ReplyDeleteThose luggage tags!! I love them. Hilarious! No trips planned here, but I'm hoping for one next year sometime :)
ReplyDeleteThat road trip bingo takes me back to my childhood! We used to always play that.
ReplyDeleteLovely gifts! At this moment i' reading ' on the road' and also the book of Keri Smith is great.
ReplyDeleteMy early 2013 plans are traveling to Lapland. Pure snow, winter, ice and silence. And hopefully capturing the northern lights!
I love all of these, and the Stub travel journal is AMAZING. Such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteJust came across your blog and I love it, one of my new favorites!
