On Wednesday, it was announced that Google Reader will be shutting down for good on July 1st. This was sad news for blog readers, as well as for bloggers who have spent years building their readership via GR. Many of you use Google Reader to follow Bubby and Bean, and I'd hate to lose you guys once their service stops in a few months.
Thankfully, there are a couple of really great alternatives that will allow you to continue to read your favorite blogs in one place. I personally am a huge fan and everyday user of Bloglovin', and would encourage you to follow us there. I also recommend Feedly. Just login using your Google account, and they will automatically sync your Google Reader account there. Easy as pie.
I am really, really grateful for those of you who you have chosen to subscribe to Bubby and Bean (and to all of my readers!), and I hope you'll stay with us! If you have any questions about making the transition to a new reader, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI read all the blogs I follow on my dashboard on Blogger... Is that part of Google Reader too?
ReplyDeleteIf it is then I will for sure switch to Bloglovin' and keep following your blog.
Thanks for your answer!
Hello! I'm not sure about that. Google does own Blogger, and I know that when you follow a blog through the Blogger dashboard, it also creates a subscription to the blog in your Google Reader account. So they are linked, but I'm not sure how/if it will be directly affected.
