Two My Style posts in just a little over a week? I know, I can't believe it either. Maybe I'm making up for lost time after going four months without doing one. Really though, I just think springtime has its grasp on me, and as a result, I've been more interested in (A) getting dressed and (B) carrying around my camera.
This outfit is very simple. It's also very me. This is how I like to dress, everyday. Give me a plain-ish embroidered dress (especially if it's black or white), a denim shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a couple of leather bracelets, earrings with a hint of turquoise, and some great boots (fringe boots are a bonus), and I'm set. The only other thing I might add is a floppy hat. The end.
Normally I break down my outfits a little more in these posts, but I honestly don't have a ton to say about this one. It's the type of look in which I feel the most comfortable. It's casual and effortless, and although embroidered dresses are trendy right now, I think it's timeless. There was nothing special going on the other day when we took these pictures either. We were running errands, and decided to stop at a forest preserve and take a walk. I love the old barn here, and Essley seemed to love it too. I'm sure it was just the fact that it was a large red shape, but regardless, she couldn't stop looking at it and talking to it. It was pretty cute.
My little bean was wearing an embroidered dress that day too, so I grabbed her at the end of our photo taking fun to snap a couple of her as well. I love that kid and her squishy thighs.

I love the embroidery on that dress. I have a soft spot for embroidered dresses because it reminds me of stuff I wore when I was little, just like what Essley is wearing except they were always yellow or white or some other 70s color. :D
ReplyDeleteYou are the most beautiful mama, Melissa. I cannot get over how well your new haircut suits you. And this outfit! Maybe it's just how comfortable you are in it that makes it seem so outstanding, I don't know, because normally fringed boots and embroidered dresses are way outside of my comfort zone but looking at you in them, I find myself thinking, "Hmmm... this kind of look could work on me, too!"
