An Evening Stroll

The weather has been incredibly gorgeous lately, and almost every evening, I've taken Essley for a long walk around our neighborhood.  It's been my reward at the end of the work day, and Essley loves it so much too.  There truly may not be anything better than just watching her experience the outdoors with her senses - listening to the leaves rustling in the tree tops, looking at the other people walking by, hearing neighborhood dogs (her favorite) barking.  Colors and smells and sensations are all so exciting to her.  It makes me appreciate all of these little details too - things that I'd normally pass right over.

The other night, the three of us (walks are even better when daddy can come too) went for an evening stroll right before the sun set, and I snapped a few photos of these little details along the way.  When Essley showed interest in something, I took a picture of it.  (And of course, I snapped a few of her as well.  I can't resist.  It's the reason my phone is constantly out of memory and my camera battery is always dead.)  It was really cool to look through the images afterward and relive the walk through Essley's eyes.  I may need to do this more often.  I definitely foresee a whole lot of summertime evening strolls in our future.
