Anyone who knows me knows that there is little I love more than lounging in the summer sunshine with friends, sipping on a margarita on the rocks. When it comes to boozy beverages, the marg tops my list every time. And although I've always chosen lemonade as my go-to non-alcoholic drink, lately I've been on an iced tea kick. So when I got word that Jose Cuervo (who had already long been producing delicious ready-to-serve margaritas) was combining these two favorites via their new Iced Teagarita, I was pretty excited to give it a try. Consisting of their classic lime flavored margarita, blended with Jose Cuervo Tequila and premium orange liqueur, then combined with iced tea, Teagarita sounded like the perfect summer treat to share with some friends.
As much as I love planning big parties now and then, I much prefer throwing together small impromptu gatherings - and the convenience of Iced Teagarita being pre-mixed helped make this possible for me the other day. I cut up some lime, threw some chips and salsa in bowls, poured some Teagarita over ice, and called up a couple of pals to come over and hang on the back deck. Boom. It was so nice to be able to relax outside and enjoy an easy snack, some tasty cocktails, and good conversation on a moment's notice.
The Iced Teagaritas were really refreshing, and a nice pairing of margarita and tea flavors. I'm looking forward to trying out some different combinations for our next get-together. I think they'd taste incredible with the addition of some squeezed oranges or muddled strawberries, or blended with ice and some fresh mint or basil. (I've discovered that an added bonus to ready-to-serve cocktails is the extra time they give you to experiment with fancying them up!)
Have you tried the Iced Teagarita yet? (If you haven't and you're intrigued, be sure to visit Jose Cuervo on Facebook for more deets.) What are your favorite drinks or snacks to whip together for last minute gatherings?

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Teagaritas before, but it looks so good and I bet it's delicious!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I really like the green ring you are wearing :)
Thank you Duni! It was my grandmother's. :)
DeleteMmmmm...I've seen this advertised and thought it sounded like a perfect summer drink! Premixed drinks are so nice!
ReplyDeleteChips and salsa or guac are my go-to quick gathering foods too! I love premixed daiquiris and margaritas. This looks like a good one!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I'm mostly a wine drinker - shock and awe, I know. But I also love hot tea. In fact, it's how I get my daily caffeine fix. And good ice tea is really hard to come by. But I feel like it you mixed any iced tea with margarita mix, it would have to be a winner, right? Plus, all in one bottle means no fuss and way less packaging waste, so it's win-win!
