Starting with the first day of Essley's life, we decided to take one picture of her each week for an entire year. Every weekend, I would take a piece of chalk, write how old she was on a yellow-framed chalkboard that we had left over from our wedding photo booth, sit her next to it in the chair in her nursery, and snap a photo. When we traveled, by car or by plane, the chalkboard came with us. It ended up being a really incredible way to document her growth. And although there were times when it admittedly felt like a chore, now that the year is up, I realize how deeply glad I am that we did it. I won't even get into the intense level of emotion I feel looking back through these photos and then seeing this amazing little girl stand here in front of me, no longer a baby at all. It's heavy, dudes.
I decided to put all of the pictures together into iMovie and create a little slide show, which you can watch by pressing play above. I think it will be fun to show it to Essley in a few years. For us, it's a great way, in less than two minutes, to look back at her first year and see how immensely she has changed. I hope you guys enjoy watching it too.
