I'm absolutely thrilled to be a guest today on my favorite podcast, One Part Podcast, hosted by my girl Jessica Murnane. Jessica and I first met online almost two years ago, and she's one inspiring lady. You may remember her from around these parts, as she's posted several plant-based recipes on Bubby and Bean, and was recently featured in our Hip Moms series. Through her website and podcast, Jessica has a mission to help the world find a happier and healthier way of living by encouraging positive and incremental changes in the way we eat, think, live, and love. I am a huge fan of her podcast, and I was incredibly honored that she asked me to be a part of it.
I tend to keep things pretty light around here. Most of my posts are design-inspired, and when I do write about personal subjects, I keep private details to a minimum. But for this interview, I made the decision to open up (for the first time in the five years since it happened) about the traumatic event and major loss in my life that ultimately led to the creation of Bubby and Bean. I also get personal about my experience with monetizing my blog, as well as lessons I've learned the hard way about being cautious with how much of my family's life I share online. It's heavy (like, really heavy), but we also laugh a lot. And I swear a lot. And you get to hear my annoying Chicago accent. You can listen in right here.
Thank you again to Jessica for having me on her show. It was one of my favorite things I've done so far this year. Enjoy your weekend everybody! See you Monday.
