It's wedding season, guys! I think that for a while, I almost forgot that this time of year is so popular to get married because we've had a lull in weddings to attend over the past few summers. In 2010 and 2011 (the year that Robbie and I got married), it felt like there were about a zillion weddings, and then it faded. This summer though, things are back in full swing, and I couldn't be more excited. In a two week period in August we have two weddings, and another the following month. And although my favorite part of weddings is getting dressed up and celebrating (duh), I also love picking out gifts. There is something about giving a gift for such a huge life event that makes it infinitely more special. It felt like that when we registered for our wedding too. The experience felt so much more meaningful than a regular shopping trip to buy dishes, ya know?
The items you see above represent some of my current favorite wedding gifts ideas (or registry ideas, if you're getting married yourself) that are as stylish as they are practical. I actually have the appetizer plates (#6), and I use them constantly. (The square shape seriously makes food look and taste better. I swear.) I'm also in love with those gorgeous bistro bowls (#1) and that killer Le Creuset french oven (#11). All of these items come from Crate & Barrel, which happened to be my favorite store on our own wedding registry.

ReplyDeleteLast year was a year of a lot of weddings for us, and this year things have slowed down a bit. In Canada we mostly give money as wedding gifts, but for showers, real gifts are still acceptable and I must say, the marble cheese dome is pretty enough to gift to anyone - myself included. Although of course I'm imagining using it as a decorative piece, with a candle in it ;)
