Fermented foods are the "it" edible right now. They taste good, they're easy to make, and they're full of health benefits. You can find them in all the hips restaurants, and they top most of the trendy food lists for this year.
Lucky for me, the pickle is a fermented food. I adore pickles with every ounce of my being. And while pickles are usually viewed as a stand alone food, thanks to the whole fermented foods trends, I've noticed pickles popping up as ingredients in other dishes. For this edition of 10 Great, I'm sharing some recipes that incorporate pickles in creative ways. I'm waaaaay into fried pickles (basically the opposite of a healthy snack but whatever, man) so I'm excited to try #3. I'm also way into the idea of #1, because any take on a jalapeño popper is going to be amazing, am I right? I'm a vegetarian so while I won't be trying #4 or #10 myself, I think they'd both be perfect for serving at a party.
Any other big pickle fans out there? Have you tried pickles as a recipe ingredient?

ReplyDeleteThis post is pretty much my dream come true. Pickles forever!
ReplyDeletePickles... don't even get me startd on the love I have for them. Growing up in a partly Eastern European family, they were a staple of our diet, particularly at holidays and I still love them, particularly next to a grilled cheese sandwich. But there are so many things you can do with them and all of these recipes look amazing!

This is a great list of recipes that use pickles! I adore pickles, but I have to admit it sometimes seems hard to find ways to use them. Thankfully I always have a jar of Bubbies in my fridge, so I can easily try a few of these soon!
