Happy (almost) Thanksgiving! I am officially in full on holiday mode, as of right now. This weekend the kids are going to visit Santa, I'm walking in a holiday parade with Essley for her dance school, I'm going shopping for gifts, and I'm definitely eating my weight in Thanksgiving leftovers the entire time. I think I'm more excited for tomorrow than anything else. I have been envisioning mashed sweet potatoes for weeks. I've also been envisioning this absolutely amazing (and ridiculously easy) holiday inspired cocktail I'll be making tomorrow. I first made this earlier this month when I spotted my Alizé Gold Passion and a bottle of prosecco in the fridge one evening and spontaneously decided to mix them into a cocktail. The results were beyond delicious. And while it's something that could be enjoyed any time of the year, some fresh cranberries and rosemary sprigs for garnish give it the perfect holiday touch. I'm looking forward to serving it (and drinking it!) throughout the season and beyond.
Holiday Gold Passion Fruit Spritzer
serves 2
INGREDIENTS
4 ounces Alizé Gold Passion Liqueur, chilled
4 ounces prosecco (or champagne), chilled
fresh cranberries
fresh rosemary sprigs
course gold sugar
Wet the rims of two glasses and dip in course sugar. Place 3-4 ice cubes in each glass. Pour 2 ounces of Alizé Gold Passion into each glass. Top each glass with 2 ounces of prosecco. Add several fresh cranberries and a fresh sprig of rosemary to each glass. Enjoy!
The spritzer is the perfect blend of sweetness and bite, is incredibly smooth, and is delicious served with meals or on its own. My husband, who is normally a beer person, loves it too. It's the Alizé Gold Passion that makes the drink - the flavor of the passion fruit combined with premium French vodka is intense in the best of ways. And while the Gold is my favorite, I've become a fan of all of the yummy flavors of Alizé. Sometimes I just pour it over ice and enjoy it by itself, but it's also so good mixed with other spirits and fresh juices. Next I want to try it blended with ice in a frozen margarita. Mmmmm. You can find where to get Alizé near you right here.
Have any of you tried any especially delicious holiday inspired cocktails lately? What food are you most looking forward to tomorrow?

Passionfruit is my absolute favourite - I developed a taste for it in France, surprise, surprise, and have never met one I don't like. I will happily eat them just as they are, scooping the seeds out of the fruit with a spoon, but I think they're even better when combined with other flavours, like chocolate or fruit. Definitely adding this recipe to my holiday cocktail list!
