The succulent trend has now been around long enough that I don't think it can be considered a trend anymore, which admittedly makes me very happy. I love (LOVE!) succulents because they remind me of some of my favorite places I've visited in the world, and it's nice to see the staying power they've had when it comes to design.
I grew up in a home that was full of houseplants (and outdoor gardens), thanks to a mother with an impressive green thumb - and every single plant, tree, and flower was real. I've never really been a fan of fake plants, and maybe this is why. But lately, I've stumbled upon - and purchased - some incredibly real looking faux succulents that you'd never know weren't the real thing without actually touching them. After recent allergy testing that showed Essley is severely allergic to mold, and us subsequently being told we should avoid soiled house plants (waaaahhh!), I decided we really do need to limit them and focus more on buying pretty faux plants that, well, don't look faux.
The succulents you see are some I have my eye on (and some, like #1, which is only $7.99 (!), I already own). If you have any other great sources for real looking faux houseplants, I'd love to hear them! (And does anyone else have a mold allergy sufferer in the house?)

I have really started to be a fan of faux greens lately. Especially here in the winter where is so dark it is impossible to keep the live ones alive.

I am about as far from a green thumb as anyone can be. But in December, I finally got my first plant that I've managed to keep alive for more than a week. It's taken a lot of research and diligent care, but my monstera is thriving (so far!) Still, I'm not sure I'm ready to graduate to caring for multiple plants just yet, so a faux succulent may be just what I need!

I want all of these, especially number 1! They totally look real!
ReplyDeleteI love the 8 and 9 is my fave! I have those at home but not a faux one, l may just want to get a faux one at some point especially these ones❤️
ReplyDeleteGreat choices! I absolutely love them all, but my favorites are #2 and #6, simply because they look like a community of succulents, almost like a mini forest and they REALLY look real. #succulentgoals
ReplyDeleteI have few of my own, still new to gardening as it is very therapeutic, but needs utmost care, so maybe it's a good idea to buy some faux for the house while I'm still learning. Thanks for this inspiration.

All of these are so pretty! I feel like succulents are also one of the top plants that when you buy a faux one they look real, because the real ones already have a waxy look to them! And these are all beautiful picks! Definitely need to get some since I have bad allergies too! Thanks for these!

These succulents are so pretty! I lived in the desert for several years, and that's where I gained true appreciation for how pretty succulents are!
