How's that for a title?
Remember back when I used to post editorial style shoots (you know, good old outfit posts)? This was never a fashion blog, but I did share outfits here - first several times a month, and then monthly. After I gave birth to Essley and had a newborn on my hands, there wasn't much time to focus on getting dressed up and finding cool locations to shoot. And when I had Emmett, it started to feel impossible. Truth be told, the trajectory of this blog changed too. I knew from the moment I got pregnant that I wanted to keep this a lifestyle site and not change to a parenting blog, but once my real life became very much about being a parent, the focus here changed from just fashion, food, design, and travel to include content on babies, kids, and parenting. And I'm glad, because that allows me to remain authentic. This isn't a personal blog, but my real life is certainly intertwined, and I (obviously) feel most comfortable when I'm posting about things that I enjoy and that actually pertain to my life outside of work.
And now that I've rambled about why I don't share those editorial style posts anymore, here I am, sharing editorial style photos. Sort of. We are about to board a plane home from California as this post goes live, so it seemed like the perfect time to share a few photos Robbie shot of Essley and me - with a suitcase - a few weeks ago at a local forest preserve. We were shooting for an Instagram photo for our pals at Samsonite, but Robbie was having fun shooting (and Essley was having fun posing), so we took several photos, just for fun. (This post is not sponsored; these were just some extra photos we took for us.) And I actually have this suitcase with me right now, as I board that plane. Full circle, man.
I won't pretend this is an actual outfit post and put together a formal listing of all of the sources, but if you like what we're wearing, here is my dress (it's $30!), here is Essley's dress, here are my sunglasses, here are Essley's sunglasses, here are my boots, and here is the (eco-friendly!) suitcase. (Essley's boots are Bobux but have been discontinued.)
Maybe we'll even do another one of these before 2018 is over. Stay tuned...
