Back in the day (you know, circa way back in, like, 2013), quite a bit of my posts here were related to fashion on some level. These days, you're much more likely to see posts that involve home, parenting, or food. And it makes sense. Having young kids has, whether I want to admit it or not, shifted my focus away from obsessively wondering what I'd wear on a given day to whether or not I can get smashed chocolate out of a sofa cushion. But that doesn't mean I don't still love clothing and shoes accessories. Because I do.
Yes, I may often wear the same outfit twice in a row (at least) and usually leave the house with some sort of toddler stain on my pants. But even when I'm looking sloppy, there is one thing that is a constant in my daily wardrobe, and that is earrings. Sometimes that can mean putting them on so quickly that I go to my daughter's dance studio with a long dangle earring hanging off of a hoop earring in my left ear which I don't notice until hours later. (True story.) But I always wear them. Always. A good pair of earrings makes me feel put together even when I'm not. (Which is 93% of the time.)
My go-to is some form of a gold or rose gold hoop. I have more pairs than I count, and while they're each subtly different, they're, well, all pretty much the same damn earring. So I thought it might be time to add something different to the mix. I still prefer a hoop, but I thought maybe I'd go all sorts of crazy and find some hoops (and/or hoop-like derivatives) that stepped outside of my super minimal, thin hoop box. And above, you can see my favorites.
I haven't purchased any of these yet, but I'm going to this week. I'd love to hear which styles get your vote! Let me know in the comments.

It's funny - for so many years of my life, I wore nothing but hoop earings. And then, all of a sudden (or at least that's the way it seems in my memory), I just stopped. I've had a single pair of small gold hoops kicking around in my jewelry box for years, unworn. And then, last fall, I saw my girlfriend wearing a pair of gold hoops and my obsession returned instantly. I'm back to wearing nearly nothing else, and I would gladly welcome every single one of these pairs into my collection.

I love hoops. Always classic! These are great variations. I have tons of earrings myself, many I made. However I most often walk out of the house with a plain pair of sterling silver hoops.
ReplyDeleteI want them all! But I think you should get 2 or 7.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, me too. In fact... I pretty much wear the same variation of an outfit weeks at a time. It's sooo liberating!! Thankful, I no longer have "mini melt-downs" when standing in front of my closet! As for these hoops?! Oh my gosh, love them all, and can't wait to start rocking larger earrings come spring!! xo
