Back in April of 2017, I decided to share my favorite items from Trader Joe's with with you guys. It's my favorite grocery store for many reasons (healthier options, affordability, overall good vibe), but above all else I love all of the speciality items they offer under their own branding. The post was one of my highest traffic posts of the entire year, so I decided to do an updated version in April of 2018. Again, the traffic and feedback was quite high. I'm guessing (hoping!) that means you guys liked it, so I decided to do it again in April of 2019. It's a tradition now, man! There are some core staples that have remained year after year, but some new favorites as well. (And again, this isn't sponsored. I just genuinely love me some TJs.)
1. Toscano Black Pepper Cheese.
Once again keeping this at #1 because it is, hands down, my favorite TJs product. It was recommended to us several years ago by a Trader Joe's employee while we were shopping, and I have never made a TJ's run since where I didn't leave without it.
2. Buffalo Style Hummus.
Buffalo sauce and hummus are both way up there on my most delicious list, so I was very excited to try this. It's even better than I imagined.
3. Raw Almond Butter.
This stuff is NOT cheap, but it's a staple in my house. It's by far the best almond butter I've ever had. I love it as a dip for apple slices, on toast, and in smoothies.
4. Vegan Kale, Cashew, and Basil Pesto.
So fresh and flavorful, this pesto makes every noodle dish taste like summer. It's a yummy dip for tortilla chips too.
5. Handcrafted Black Bean & Cheese Taquitos.
I mean, they're taquitos. Need I say more?
6. Triple Ginger Snaps.
By far the best ginger snaps I've ever tasted (other than my dad's homemade variety). The fresh ginger, candied ginger, and ground ginger combine to create true ginger cookie heaven.
7. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil.
We cook with this every single day. It's a great moisturizer too!
8. Organic Broccoli Slaw.
I discovered this last year and can't stop, man. It's the perfect crunch to add to bowls and tacos, and also delicious steamed with pasta sauce.
9. Everything But The Bagel Seasoning.
You cannot go wrong with this seasoning. It makes everything better.
10. Thai Yellow Curry Sauce.
This one holds a special place in my heart. The first time I had my now-husband over for dinner (13 years ago!), I made him yellow curry tofu with this sauce. His exact word in response was "smitten." (I also drank way too much vodka that night and he ended up holding up my hair over the toilet, which was the first of many signs that this one was a keeper.)
11. Thai Vegetable Gyoza.
Tibetan Momos are my absolute favorite food, but they're impossible to find outside of Tibetan restaurants, and my one attempt at making them was disastrous to say the least. The veggie potstickers are admittedly not as tasty as the read thing, but they're similar, and I'll take that.
12. Paneer Tikka Masala with Spinach Basmati Rice.
This genuinely tastes as good as the Paneer Masala at my favorite Indiana restaurant. My only complaint is that for a dinner, the portion is quite small.
13. Triple Ginger Brew.
This is only available around the holidays, and apparently also was temporarily recalled a few years ago for the bottles bursting, but I can't leave it off because its is SO good. I love a good ginger brew with lots of bite, and this one delivers.
14. Speculoos Cookie Butter.
You cannot have a Best of TJ's list without this on it. The end.
15. Steamed Lentils.
I adore lentils, and these make eating them so east. I heat them up and add a little Braggs Amino Acids and pepper, and lunch is served. They're also great in salads. The kids are big fans too.
16. Carrot Ginger Miso Salad Dressing.
This dressing is perfection on salads, but so good as a sauce too. I love it on grilled tofu.
If you're a Trader Joe's fan likes I am and have some favorites not on this list, I'd love to hear them!

I need to try that buffalo hummus. I LOVE Everything but the bagel seasoning!!
ReplyDeleteThat cashew kale pesto and the veggie gyoza are favorites of mine! And nobody can beat the price for TJs coconut oil- i love the coconut oil spray too. The broccoli slaw makes me crazy at TJs! They include waaaay too much of the thick inedible outer layer of the stalk whereas brand at the grocery store don’t include that outer layer.
ReplyDeleteI buy Cruciferous Crunch in multiples! It’s fantastic for salads or as a sautéed veg side. The frozen Soycuttash, teriyaki baked tofu, frozen meatless balls, and soyaki are all regular buys for me too.

Yum! So many new things to try!
