I used to make this snack for my daughter when she was a toddler and sort of forgot about it. Last week, she asked about it out of the blue, so we brought it back! This is such an easy, healthy snack for kids, and the fun ladybug design motivates them to eat it (raisins and all!).
Ladybug Apple Snacks
serves 2
1 red apple
1 T peanut butter, almond butter, or sunbutter
16 raisins
1 baby carrot
Core apple and cut in half. On each half, make a slit about half way down, to form wings. Dab small pieces of nut butter or sunflower seed butter on each half, then tops those pieces of butter with raisins to form the dots. Cut two small pieces of baby carrot and insert into each top to form antennae. We like to serve with yogurt or healthy crackers, but it's a great snack by itself too!
I hope your little ones (or you!) like these as much as we do.
